Joseph Dituri (Dr Deep Sea), a 55-year-old biomedical engineer with the International Board of Undersea Medicine, lived inside the Jules’ Undersea Lodge off the coast of Florida for 100 days between March 1 and June 9, 2023, as part of Project Neptune, a scientific mission to study the effects of living for a long time in a high-pressure environment. This broke the record for the longest stay in an underwater fixed habitat.
Whilst there he even got a visit from a mermaid (see picture).
