In late 1462 Vlad the Impaler went to Transylvania to seek assistance from Matthias Corvinus, King of Hungary, against the Turks, whose emissaries he had impaled. But Corvinus had him imprisoned for 12 years or so. Allegedly in this castle, but some say it was in Visegrád Castle.
