Following on from the John Oliver Memorial Sewer Plant in Danbury, CT, we have Mt. Cleese, in Palmerston North, New Zealand. It’s a vast mound of rubbish named after the Fawlty Towers hero John Cleese, who was so unimpressed with “Palmy” (pop. 91,800) he dubbed the city “suicide capital of New Zealand”.
Memo to would-be detractors: a one-eyed hole will have no lack of features to perpetuate your name.
