The Grand Kugel in Richmond, Virginia, is a sculpture consisting of a polished granite sphere rotating on a thin film of water. There’s another “kugel” nearby, proportionately smaller as the Moon is to the Earth.

I wonder if the principle on which it works has anything to do with the unwanted behaviour of the Merchant Ball in Marion, Ohio (and featured here in an earlier post)?
