An elderly lady in Romania found a 3.5 kg rock in a stream. She took it home and used it as a doorstop for decades until she died in 1991. Her heirs began to have their suspicions about this humble rock.

Turns out it’s the world’s largest intact piece of amber ever discovered. Valued at somewhere over a million dollars, it’s been declared a Romanian national treasure.
