Hooray!

At last… a prominent journalist refuses to use the fluffy word populist to describe a rabble-rouser.

George Monbiot’s article in The Guardian is excellent and insightful. He could have added that rabble rousers prosper because the rabble hasn’t changed in over 2500 years. It’s folk who basically care for nothing but themselves, are too lazy to reflect on what they hear if it appeals to them, and imagine everyone else is like them. It’s a pack of dogs going with the flow and reacting only to the dog whistle.
