For my birthday she bought me
a shirt, a tie and a jumper,
hung them on one hangar,
said “Always wear them together”.

So I wore them to a party
held by other friends.
Their twenty-something daughter,
never known for her tact,
said “For someone who
doesn’t do colour co-ordination
that is pretty impressive.”
