Have you ever looked in a bad mirror?
I don’t say a dark one, though they are not good.
I mean a cracked one, or a flaky one,
yellowed and peeling.
It’s not a good thing to do
to look in a bad mirror.
You know it’s not how you look –
you’re inviting a lie.
It’s an evil thing to do
to look in a bad mirror.
The one who stares back is not you.
Don’t try swapping places.
It’s a dangerous thing to do
to look in a bad mirror.
Aren’t you afraid of waking up
trapped in a glass prison?
Then your sole hope of escape
is for someone bad to stare in the glass
and mirror you in their wicked eyes,
going from bad to worse.
