Suzanne Elvidge

Suzanne Elvidge lives in Fylingthorpe with her illustrator wife Dee Block and sundry dogs and cats. She writes and performs monologues about women’s hidden stories, writes short fiction, and is working on a novel and a play. She went back to university in 2019 to study for an MA in Writing for Performance in Derby and wrote a full-length audio play called ‘Under Her Skin’, set in a measles epidemic and discussing the challenges face by two women with conflicting views about vaccinating their daughter.

She works as a freelance medical writer, with a focus on drug development and healthcare.

She also writes The Widow’s Handbook, a blog about being widowed from the point of view of someone who has been there, and received the Helen Bailey Award in 2022.

When she’s not at the keyboard, you’ll find her in the garden, swimming in the sea, or treading the boards with Whitby Amateur Dramatic Society.

Details of her publications and performances are here.
