Minutes of the meeting at La Rosa Hotel on Thursday 22 February 2018.

Present: Mike, Jonathan, Roy, Pip, Jenny, Graham, Adele, Louise, Ian (chair).

Topic: Members’ work-in-progress.

Mike [Adele] — Adele is getting herself noticed in high society, even by the King himself. She happens upon a Suffragette meeting, quickly broken up by the police. Ben seduces her, but brings her carnations just as she’s thinking he’s gone off and left her.

Adele — read her new poem: Washday.

Roy outlined the present situation with Endeavour Press, the publisher of his book Wesson’s Favour. A lively discussion ensued on his best course of action.

Jenny — read her new poem: Dancing to his tune. Also announced the first performance, by Merry Melancholy, of Devereux, Earl of Essex on Thursday 22 March 2018 at 7.30 PM.

Pip [Caicos Moon] — her second day on the Island of South Caicos: no hot water unless you boil it, and the electricity only comes on after dark when it’s needed for the lighthouse.

Ian [Anitra’s Petition] — ‘Uncle Peter’, Anitra’s guardian, has been arrested back on Earth by a Moonforce snatch-squad led by Commissioner Nilsson for complicity in historical “crimes against humanity” committed on Selene. Anitra, en-route for the Moon, finds it impossible to evade the Commissioner, who has a little gift for her.
