From Jenny Hill …

Dear music lovers,

Another year has gone already, and it’s time for Lunchtime Concerts at St John the Evangelist church, Brunswick Street, Whitby, which will resume in just over a week, on August 5th. A variety of music is on offer every Friday in August, in the lovely acoustic of St John’s. The first concert will be organ music, played by Michael Ash, resident organist at St John’s. On 12th August, singer Jenny Hill accompanied by Veronica Carolan, will perform songs from Purcell through to George Gershwin. Hawsker Village Band will be playing Polkas, Jigs, Reels and Waltzes from the British tradition on 19th August. Finally, on 26th August we have an exceptionally talented young violinist, Sarah King, accompanied by mother Elaine King; they will play ‘Dances & Romances’ for violin and piano.

The concerts begin at 11.45am, and last about 45 minutes. There is no charge for entry, but we ask this year for donations to the Ukranian Refugee Relief Fund.
