I spent last Sunday afternoon in Crocodile, a new wine and tapas bar in Flowergate, Whitby. On their regular “Lazy Sundays” they suspend the normal small but choice menu for a set lunch featuring a different national cuisine, beautifully served.

Last Sunday it was Thai (after French, Mexican and Greek, all of which I’ve sampled).

If you’re down that way (Crocodile, 33 Flowergate, Whitby, phone 07753113312) snap up the opportunity for a coffee and maybe a tapas. Lizzy, Andy and Nick will be sure to make you welcome. To my total lack of surprise I see it’s being awarded the highest ratings on Tripadvisor.
