From Jenny Hill …

Another year has passed away, and another season of delightful Lunchtime Concerts at St John’s will soon be upon us!

As usual, they take place on Fridays in August and early September. The first, on Friday 7th August, will be ‘Beauties of the Baroque,’ with Michael Ash, Organ & Jenny Hill, Soprano.

We are excited to announce that on Friday 14th August, our soloist will be Sara Salloum, Lute, ‘A Woman’s Instrument: The Art of the Renaissance Lute Player.’ This will be a historical performance in full costume.

Friday 21st August will feature Poetry by Jenny Hill, showcasing poems from her new book, along with Flute improvisations by Bob Butterfield. Jenny’s book will be on sale at £10 a copy.

Finally, on Friday 4th September, we will welcome Fylingdales Folk Choir. This A Capella choir sings Traditional Folk, Contemporary, Gospel and Blues in glorious 4-part harmony. 

Each Concert begins at 11.45 in St John’s, Brunswick Street, Whitby. Entry is free, and there will be a retiring collection.
